**Learning @ Logic** Mouth guard and trauma!
Are you or your child playing contact sports? Or joining one soon?
If yes, then it is a good idea to wear a mouthguard to prevent any dental trauma and reduce the risk of a concussion in the event of a blow to the jaw. Accidents can happen anytime and anywhere. Whether it's equipment malfunction or contact from other players on the field, from footy to netball, or skateboarding at the skate park to cycling on a stretch of road.
The three types of mouth guards include stock, boil & bite, and custom made. The custom made mouth guard is superior to all others in terms of protection and comfort by absorbing the shock of the impact to the jaw, whereas the boil and bite mouth guard is loosely fitted, obstruct breathing and speaking, and can wedge in the back of your throat posing life threatening consequences.
